We recently completed a whirlwind of a fast turnaround piece for The BuzzBee Company for Intel. We created an 3D animated view of a server farm with relationship to the desktop client. All of this info was put together with titles and some live footage shot on location. Working again with compositor extraordinaire Tim Turner and composer Mark Cardenas to create a custom soundtrack, we got this out in two weeks from script to delivery. The infographic created for this piece was so liked by the client, that we are in the process of expanding on it for 2 other projects.

Phantom HD at 2000 fps

Two thousand frames per second of HD video does not come out of a camera per se, it’s more like a computer with a lens on it. Recently Director Daniel Cardenas, DP Steven Bradford and crew, rented the Phantom high speed camera for a product ruggedability comparison. Using 2- 1200 HMIs to light the action, the camera at that frame rate is very light hungry. Tethered to a workstation via gigabit ethernet and a 20 sec. roll time, shooting is a exercise in patience and fascination.
Once a take is recorded, we check it, mark it as a keeper, export it and save it, or dump it. All of this takes a few minutes for about 25 seconds of footage. High speed, super slo-mo, beautiful HD footage so strikingly clear you can see specs of dirt fly off the ground as the tool hits the ground.

We wrecked about $50K worth of high tech thermal imagers to prove a point. Check it out.

In a different scope of endeavors, we had the opportunity to use some new equipment at a Nation wide, 3 day conference held at the Tulalip Resort Casino in Marysville, WA. We used the Ocean Matrix Presentation Switcher and Beringer Perimetric Equalizer to maximize the AV capabilities during presentations, not to mention using about eight videos we shot and edited together days before the event for the multiple presentations. The switcher gave us options to cut between different screens seamlessly including power point presentations, DVD videos, photo slide shows, freeze screens with logos and live digital video while playing music and having the use of multiple wireless microphones. Coordinating the lighting and multiple means of AV sources with our new gear was like fine tuning an orchestra. It’s nice knowing you can meet just about any request within the scope of corporate presentation with ease and confidence.

This is a behind the scenes video clip of our production for the Future of Flight Foundation. Nine months after our my first proposal, we finally started production on this incredibly interesting project. One which I hope will have a huge impact on the way people look at nurturing innovation in our younger generation. We were commissioned to produce an informational fundraiser video for the Future of Flight Foundation. Like most foundations, they need to seek out funding for there operations, exhibits and programs. In the spirit of innovation, I took the plunge and decided to shoot the principal photography with the Red One. This is a high end cinema camera that’s more like a computer than a traditional video camera. We shot it in 4K which roughly gives you 4 times the size of 1080 HD video. CLICK HERE to check out a web gallery of photos from Steven Bradford. The deliverable will be a Blu-Ray disc that will be presented on a 30’ screen in the gallery along with a donor kiosk at the entrance of this installation. With about 200,000 visitors a year, we are proud to be involved in this local project for an inspiring cause. Stay tuned for more as we delve into the post production process of this piece.

20 New Products from Amprobe

How do you introduce 20 new products on a limited budget? Give us a call. We created this multi-purposed high impact video for Amprobe. It addresses several vertical markets and works for distributors as well. The deliverable was a DVD, Windows Media and Flash video in a simple player. Created using After Effects with Knoll Lighting Effects from Red Giant Software, live video, application photography, and even some stock photography. All of this was composited and layed over a driving original sound track created in house. This just rocks and is a pleasure to watch. Not to mention how cool the relatively inexpensive products are. And the red color rocks…. TG for digital video, I don’t miss the analog tape days. This would have been a messy blood bath of chroma smear.

To help wow the technology press corps, we helped Fluke Corporation with a short video of 3 killer new products. The approach was short and sweet, basically shot in one day on site with some exteriors as pick-ups. Edited with a music bed and used together and separately on live and passed around. The coolest shot was dropping a DMM (digital multimeter of which Fluke makes the best in the world) into a clear tank of water and seeing it continue to work. We also dropped the unit 2 meters from a ladder and yep, it kept on tickin’. Check out the video, and check out these great products at www.fluke.com

We recently signed a deal with the Aquasox baseball team as the Aquavision video production company. The Aqausox, a single A team affiliated with the Seattle Mariners, recently installed a beautiful state of the art video board in the Everett Memorial Stadium. We are tasked with crewing the production for the remaining 20 games this season. Along with creating all of the on screen graphics and video, we operate the video display during all of the games. If you think baseball is a slow sport, you should see us hop during the game. If you have not been to a game, it’s a real hoot. There are between inning promotions and contests and even though there are rules prohibiting showing motion video when the batter is up, in the background we are recording and switching the cameras for those oh so precious slo-mo replays. The season runs through Sept.3rd. Come on out and see for yourself.
